Keanna Lamont began her involvement with the Massachusetts Youth Leadership Foundation when she represented North Reading High School at the 2012 MassSTAR Citizenship Conference. Since 2012, she has volunteered at every conference in a variety of roles, including a Junior Facilitator, a member of Junior Operations, and a member of the Recruitment team on the Conference Planning Committee for 3 years. For the 2020 conference, Keanna will be serving in her second year as Conference Director.
Keanna is currently studying for her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Boston College, graduating in 2020. She graduated from Boston College in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Applied Psychology and Human Development. While studying for her Master’s, Keanna works in BC’s Graduate School of Education Office of Admission and Financial Aid.
During her time at Boston College, Keanna lead a service trip to Natchez Mississippi for 2 years working at an Early Education school. She was also involved in Relay for Life, the Student Admissions Program, and she currently services as a Resident Assistant (RA). Keanna has taught in elementary schools in Brighton, Brookline, North Reading, and Boston, including a Spanish/English dual-language school.
MassSTAR provided Keanna the opportunity to come out of her shell and stand up for what she believes in. She has continued to be involved with the organization due to the many formative experiences and great friends she has met through the conference. She hopes to continue to volunteer with MassSTAR in order to meet and help inspire the next generation of leaders!
