Makenna LamontMakenna Lamont began her involvement with the MYL Foundation when she represented North Reading High School at the 2018 MassSTAR Citizenship Conference. She served as a Junior Facilitator for the 2019 and 2022 conferences, as well as for the virtual 2021 conference. She took on a new position on the Board of Directors as the Merchandise Coordinator at the beginning of 2023. Makenna is passionate about MYL and excited to work with her board members to create merchandise for the foundation!
Makenna is currently a Junior at Fairfield University, where she is studying Sociology, Psychology, and Peace and Justice Studies. She hopes to pursue her passion for criminal justice and attend law school to become a prosecutor. Makenna saw her potential to create change from attending MassSTAR and hopes to use what she has learned to support the victims of crimes, as well as to make her community a safer place for all. She wants to help the vulnerable and disadvantaged the chance for justice and the strength to find their voice and share their stories. Makenna has continued to volunteer with the MYL Foundation for the lifelong friendships she has made, and to inspire young people to make a positive difference in the world. She has a passion for shaping young minds into great leaders and hopes to have an impact on the lives of the delegates. She is excited to work with the board members, and to return to the conference to hear the experiences and ideas of the delegates! |
