Matt attended MassSTAR in 2003 and in the years since has served as a staff member at many MYL events. He believes deeply in MYL’s mission to encourage young people as they become compassionate leaders in their communities.
A resident of Somerville, Matt works as an information systems project manager at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In the past, he has worked as a counselor with teenagers in residential care, and has served as a full-time AmeriCorps-sponsored volunteer through the MercyWorks program in Chicago. He has worked and volunteered for nonprofit organizations concerned with a range of issues, including homelessness, mental health, wage theft, and affordable childcare. Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in management and psychology from Boston College and a master’s degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago. He aspires to concoct recipes for the world’s crunchiest pickles and the universe’s greatest chili. He has a long way to go. |
